Technology partners selected for operating fit

Good outcomes are rarely down to one team. The results we deliver for clients are built as much on the strength of the platforms we partner with as on our own engineering, and we are glad to give that credit where it is due. We keep the list deliberately focused. A smaller set of partners we know deeply beats a long one we know shallowly, and we choose each for how well it fits the way real organisations actually run, not for the logo.

What we run, and why

What each partner brings, and what we do with it

Inlight IT works across a practical set of technology partners built around Microsoft, Fortinet, Cisco, SentinelOne, Proofpoint, NAKIVO, IBM, Lenovo and Huntress, with selected supporting platforms where they earn a place in a specific environment. Each one supports the managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud, infrastructure, secure networking, backup, recovery and automation work we do for Australian organisations.

Identity and productivity platform · Identity and productivity layer

Microsoft is the operating layer most of our clients run on, spanning identity, productivity, endpoint management, security, cloud, collaboration and automation in a single estate. We design, secure and run it end to end, from day-to-day operations and identity discipline through to security hardening and platform lifecycle.

Network security and SD-WAN · Network edge layer

Fortinet anchors secure networking: firewall architecture, SD-WAN, branch security and SASE-aligned protection across single and multi-site environments. We design, deploy and operate Fortinet estates inside our cybersecurity and secure networking engagements, including firewall policy, SD-WAN orchestration and centralised management.

Switching, wireless and routing · Network edge layer

Cisco covers switching, wireless, routing and cloud-managed networking across multi-site estates, with Meraki the common choice where centralised cloud management and simple branch deployment are the priority. We deploy and operate Cisco and Meraki networks, and assess existing Cisco infrastructure against how an organisation actually runs today.

Endpoint protection and response · Security operations layer

SentinelOne brings endpoint protection, detection and response, and security operations to modern endpoint fleets, and it earns its place where a client needs stronger endpoint visibility, autonomous containment and managed response. We deploy and operate it within managed security operations and wider cybersecurity work, including policy tuning, alert triage and incident response.

Email security · Security operations layer

Proofpoint handles email security, phishing protection and business email compromise risk, and matters most where supplier impersonation or Microsoft 365 email exposure is a real threat. We run it alongside Microsoft 365 controls for layered email defence, tuning policy and user impact and reviewing threats on an ongoing basis.

Backup and recovery · Data protection layer

NAKIVO backs up and recovers virtualised infrastructure, physical servers, Microsoft 365 and cloud workloads, and belongs in the resilience conversation wherever immutability, backup monitoring and recovery readiness count. We run it as the backup platform behind our backup and disaster recovery work, including immutability configuration, restore testing and recovery-readiness evidence.

Enterprise storage and resilience · Infrastructure layer

IBM provides enterprise storage and data resilience for organisations with large data estates, demanding performance needs or strict recovery commitments. We design and operate IBM storage within infrastructure modernisation and backup architecture, from capacity planning and performance review to data-protection design and lifecycle support.

Endpoint and server hardware · Infrastructure layer

Lenovo underpins endpoint and server environments where reliable hardware and clean lifecycle management matter, across managed IT, fleet decisions and infrastructure refresh. We procure, deploy, manage and support Lenovo fleets and server infrastructure, including standardisation, lifecycle planning, warranty management and refresh cycles.

Managed detection and response · Security operations layer

Huntress adds managed detection and a human-led security operations layer across endpoints and Microsoft 365 identity, backed by a round-the-clock security operations centre that investigates and triages threats. We run it as part of managed security operations, where continuous monitoring and expert review strengthen what endpoint tooling catches on its own.

How we choose

Technical capability is necessary. It is not the whole answer

We assess technology choices against the environment they need to support, not against vendor preference or a feature comparison alone. A platform can be technically excellent and still be the wrong choice if it adds complexity no one needs, cannot be supported properly, or does not match how the organisation works. Four questions decide whether something makes the list.

Q01

Supportability

Can the platform be operated reliably by the internal team, by us, or in a co-managed model? Vendor capability counts for little if no one can support it after deployment.

Q02

Security fit

Does it improve identity, access, endpoint, email, network or recovery posture? Security is considered as part of the decision, not bolted on afterwards.

Q03

Lifecycle and cost

Is it commercially sensible across licensing, support, renewal, hardware and future change? Total cost over the lifecycle matters more than the headline price.

Q04

Integration

Does it work cleanly with the surrounding Microsoft, security, network, cloud and infrastructure environment? Integration friction often decides whether a platform succeeds in practice.

The principle

Good fit is what makes a partnership worth having

Choosing platforms for how well they fit a client's environment, rather than for a commercial relationship, is what keeps the work honest. Clients get advice they can trust because the recommendation is based on the environment, supportability and long-term operating fit. The partners we build on get a capable team that deploys and supports their platforms properly. We have built a productive record on exactly that principle, and the same decision usually turns out to be the right one for everyone. You can see how it plays out in the work itself →
